Madina Global Evangelical Church launches Night of Encounter

Accra, Sept. 13, GNA – The Reverend Johannes Ahiabu, Parish Pastor of the Madina Adonai Chapel of the Global Evangelical Church, has called on the youth to explore their talents to grow into useful citizens. He said it was one of the ways of preventing them from indulging in cyber fraud popularly called ‘Sakawa’, which was gaining notoriety in society.

Rev. Ahiabu made the call at the launch of “Special Night of Encounter” in Accra on Sunday. The event, which would be held on September 18, is on the theme: “Enough is enough.” It is aimed at bringing Christians of all classes together and pray for the economic growth of the nation and the spiritual empowerment of participants.

Rev. Ahiabu said God rewarded hard work and punished those who indulged in occultism, which he said had become the favourite pastime of a section of the youth in their quest to gain material wealth. The Parish Pastor advised parents to take the education of their children seriously, since it was the only legacy that they could leave for them to be self supporting in future. He called on Ghanaians to use the centenary celebration of Dr Kwame Nkrumah; Ghana’s first President, to promote peace and national unity. The Parish Pastor said Dr Nkrumah stood for freedom and justice and urged the citizenry to be patriotic to ensure the development of the country.

He appealed to politicians to work together instead of opposing each other for their partisan interests, since Ghanaians are one people with a common destiny. 13 Sept. 09
