Mac Manu solicits support for NPP

Drobo (B/A), Feb. 21, GNA – Mr Peter Mac Manu, National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has called on chiefs in the Jaman South District to rally behind the party to sustain the peace and stability in the country.

He said the NPP government had adopted the rule of law and good governance, which had made Ghana a peaceful nation and urged the chiefs to help the government to develop the nation.

Mr Mac Manu said these when he paid separate courtesy calls on the paramount chiefs of Drobo and Japekrom traditional areas to introduce himself as the new National Chairman of the NPP.

The National Chairman advised the people to be wary of people who wanted to win power with violence and lies, saying NPP was the only party that could help Ghanaians to transform their lives through prudent policies.

“The government will never discriminate against you, because you are for development and the NPP is the only party that respects chiefs”, he said and appealed to the chiefs to continue to give the party the moral support.

Mr Mac Manu commended the people in the District for voting for Mrs Anna Nyamekye as Member of Parliament and President Kufuor, adding that he was sure they would again vote for the party during the 2008 elections.

Beyeeman Bosea Gyinatwi, Omanhene of Drobo Traditional Area, appealed to the government to help construct the Sampa-Drobo trunk road to facilitate economic activities in the area. He commended Mr Mac Manu for his election as the National Chairman of the party and advised him to work harder to win more members. The National Chairman was accompanied by the Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman, Nana Obiri Boahen, Mr Apraku Tanoh, District Chief Executive for Jaman South and other regional executives of the party. 21 Feb. 06
