Accra, March 29, GNA – The President of the worldwide Evangelical Lutheran Church, Gerald Kieschnick, has praised the relationship between the Church and the State in Ghana, describing it as progressive. He said the two organisations should complement each other and not be seen to be interfering in each other’s work. Mr Kieschnick was speaking to reporters in a pre-departure interview after a four-day visit to Ghana, during which he visited the Church’s projects and also perform evangelical work in the country. He reiterated that the menace of HIV/AIDS could be reduced if there is a behavioural change in the lifestyle of the people, as well as stepping up the awareness campaign on the effects of AIDS. Mr Kieschnick expressed his appreciation of projects that have been undertaken by the Church in the area of education, health and agriculture. He visited the Budumburam refugee camp and other branches of the Church during his visit.
