Lumber company establishes nails factory in Nkoranza

Nkoranza (B/A), July 15, GNA – A Lumber Company has established a nail factory at Nkoranza in Brong Ahafo with the capacity to produce about 100 to 150 boxes of various sizes of the product a day. Mr Kwaku Adu-Poku, Director of the company told the Ghana News Agency during a tour that the factory was producing various sizes of nails.

He said the factory was an extension of the timber business and was aimed at helping building contractors and carpenters who transact business with the company to purchase nails to enhance their activities. The company employs 60 workers, the Director said, adding that the management had plans to import wire nails to feed the factory as it was becoming difficult to obtain the raw material on the local market. Mr Adu Boahen, Principal Engineer, said the nails manufactured were of high quality and had ready markets at Techiman, Kintampo and Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
