Lt Col Agbenaza’s death formally announced to RCC

The family of Lieutenant Colonel Charles Agbenaza (rtd), on Friday officially informed the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) of his death.

The late Lt. Col. Agbenaza was a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu South and served as Regional Minister for the Volta and Central regions during the Rawlings regime.

Togbe Amenya Fiti V, Paramount Chief of Aflao, who led a delegation made up of the family members and traditional rulers including Togbe Addo VIII, Fiaga of Klikor, said Mr Agbenaza passed on in November last year.

He said the funeral planning committee fixed February 8 and 9 2013 for the funeral, and called on the government to help give a befitting burial to the former regional minister.

Mr Henry Ametepe, Caretaker Deputy Volta Regional Minister, described the late Lt Col Agbenaza as a hard working politician, who was development-oriented.

Mr Ametepe said that government would give support towards the funeral, and asked the funeral planning committee to confirm the date of the funeral in time for the necessary preparations.
