Lower West Akyem constituency NPP elects new officers

Asamankese (E/R), Sept. 30, GNA – Four of the nine-member Lower West Akyem constituency executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were returned unopposed at elections held at the party’s constituency conference at Asamankese on Wednesday. The retained officers were Mr Conrad Awuku Peprah, Chairman, Mr Joseph K. Ameyaw, First Vice Chairman, Mr Addo Kwasi Annoh, Secretary and Madam Hawa Abdulai, Women’s Organizer.

The newly-elected included Mr Francis Ohene Boafo, Second Vice Chairman, Mrs Mercy Sintim, Treasurer, Mr E. Appiah-Adjei, Assistant Secretary, while Mr David Apetsi became the Organizer and Mr Mohammed Abubakari Adam, Youth Organizer.

Speaking after the elections, the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Madam Susana Mensah, expressed satisfaction about the peaceful manner in which the polls were conducted and hoped members of the party in the constituency would unite and mobilize the people to be ready for the elections in 2008.

The Eastern Regional NPP Chairman, Nana Adi Ankamah, called on the polling station and the constituency executives to propagate the gains the nation had made under the NPP government, such as the introduction of the fee-free educational policy and the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Among those present were the MP for the constituency, Mr James Apietu-Ankrah, the immediate past MP, Mr P. K. Amoabeng and the District Chief Executive of Yilo Krobo, Sub-Lt. Christian Kofi Tettey who is also the Regional First Vice Chairman.
