Lordina joins John on campaign trail

Ampoma (BA), July 21, GNA – Mrs. Lordina Mahama on Monday joined her husband, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, running mate to the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to campaign in the Brong Ahafo Region.

He is on a 10-day tour of the Region, which entered the eighth day on Monday. The first point of call was Ampoma, the hometown of Lordina. Mr Mahama and his wife received a rousing welcome where many women laid their clothes on the ground and scores of supporters mobbed the two amidst jubilation.

Mr. Mahama who is accompanied by Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo and Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Organiser and General Secretary, respectively continued to receive rousing welcome throughout their tour of the region.

Towns and villages that were not originally programmed on the itinerary of Flag bearer continued to mount roadblocks and sometimes diverted the whole convoy. This has led to holding of impromptu rallies deep into the night and delays of schedule programmes. Mr. Mahama announced that the NDC would hold a regional rally at Techiman on Friday and appealed to all those who would attend that rally, especially drivers and cyclists to be careful to prevent accidents.

He said the NDC cannot afford to lose any member adding, “every vote counts”.

Throughout the tour, at rallies and courtesy calls on chiefs, Mr. Mahama maintained that, the NDC stood for peace and discipline and called for the election to be devoid of confusion and confrontation. Mr Mahama will on Monday visit Yeji, Zamarama, Apesika, Abease, Pramg and Parambu.
