Lord Mayor Of The City Of London Commends Ghana Government

The Lord Mayor of City of London has applauded the government’s efforts to create the conducive atmosphere for business and economic development, in spite of challenging global economic situation.

In a meeting the Lord Mayor, Rt.Hon Alderman Yarrow held with Finance Minister Seth Terkper recently, in London, he disclosed that the City of London was keen to assist Ghana to develop our insurance industry as well as skills training and indicated the need for the two sides to engage further in the matter.

He called for alternative sources of funding for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

Minister Terkper welcomed the support and assured the Lord Mayor Finance Ministry’s preparedness to engage the city of London on ways to deepen the financial sector.

The Lord Mayor further called for a speedy resolution of the corruption scandal involving some members of the judiciary, in order to sustain the interest of the international investor community.
