Local Government Minister, Hajia Alima Mahama has called on management of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to familiarize herself with its activities.
The Minister who was recently sworn into office thanked management for the assistance offered her during her vetting preparation.
The Metro Coordinating Director, Sam Ayeh –Datey briefed her on some general activities the Assembly have been engaged in and some of the challenges being faced. Various members of management also took turns to brief the minister of their respective sectors.
Issues discussed at the meeting included decentralization, de-silting of storm water drains, congestion, encroachment, mounting of illegal structures, revenue mobilization, and boundary disputes among others.
Hajia Alima Mahama, urged AMA management to keep up the good work and assured the Assembly of her maximum support.
