Local Council of Churches assists Cape Coast District Hospital

Cape Coast, Dec. 20, GNA – The Cape Coast branch of the Local Council of Churches, on Wednesday donated items worth three million cedis to the Children’s Ward of the Cape Coast District Hospital in Cape Coast.

The item including baby dresses, four rechargeable lamps, two cartons each of biscuits and soft drinks, a quantity of oranges and bananas and cash of five hundred thousand cedis.

Reverend Father Emmanuel Entsi Williams, Chairman of the Council and Dean of the Christ Anglican Church, who presented the items, said it was the Council’s social responsibility towards the society. He said it was not the duty of the Church to only pray for the spiritual needs of the public but also to care for their social need and that they were sharing the Christmas joy with the kids. Fr Williams and Mr Godfrey Brown, Secretary of the Council prayed for the children on admission at the Hospital.

Ms Mary Asan, Deputy Regional Director of Nursing Services who received the items on behalf of the Ward, thanked the Council for the gesture and said the lamps would go a long way to improve upon the lighting system in the Ward.

She called on other philanthropists to emulate the good example of the Council and come to its aid.
