Local and District committees of LEAP inaugurated in Atwima-Nwabiagya

Nkawie (Ash), Aug. 15, GNA – An eight-member District and a 30-member Local Implementation Committees of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District have jointly been inaugurated at Nkawie.

Mr. Thomas Ofori Donkor, Atwima-Nwabiagya District Chief Executive (DCE) who performed the ceremony on Wednesday, appealed to the members to live above reproach in their selection of beneficiaries. He urged them to eschew nepotism, tribalism, political affiliations and other vices that had the tendency of undermining the purpose of the programme.

Mr. Opoku Agyemang, Ashanti Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare, said 200 households were expected to be selected from the district. 15 Aug 08
