LMVCA ‘lied’ over 4m NHIS card registrants – Ephson

The Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) must apologise to Ghanaians who were injured in the demonstrations for a new voters’ register because the pro-NPP group “lied” to get Ghanaians on the streets, according to pollster Ben Ephson.

According to Mr. Ephson, the pro-opposition group deceived Ghanaians that the voters’ register was made up of over four million people who registered with NHIS cards.

But figures obtained by Starrfmonline.com which will be presented to the Supreme Court by the Electoral Commission from eight regions today indicate that 30,435 people registered with NHIS cards in Central, Western, Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Volta, Ashanti and Eastern regions.

Starrfmonline.com is yet to obtain figures from the Brong Ahafo and Greater Accra regions.

The figures have also been corroborated by Mr. Ephson on Kasapa 102.5FM.

Speaking on Anopa Kasapa Wednesday, Ephson said members of the LMVCA used lies and deception to entice Ghanaians to pour onto the streets to fight for their cause.

“The LMVCA demonstrations were based on lies, they lied to push people on the streets, now they have been exposed, are they running away from their figures now…they must prove where they got the 4 million number from because I never said that,” Ephson told host Fiifi Banson.

Ephson, who has published several books on Ghana’s elections, said the LMVCA group has been “stripped naked” over the numerous lies they told Ghanaians and supporters of the NPP.

“God has stripped them naked…they used the 4 million number to hype Ghanaians and now they are running away …they should apologise to all those people who were hurt in the demonstrations because they lied to get them on the streets.”
