LIVESTREAMING: Akufo-Addo addresses nation on first 100 days in office

President Nana Akufo-Addo is today addressing the nation on his first three months in office.

The President and his Cabinet over the weekend met to review their performance in the last 90 days in office and the way forward.

One issue that reportedly dominated discussions during the review was the increasing spate of illegal mining also known as Galamsey and the lawless activities of a vigilante group affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP)“Delta Force”.

The President at the retreat is reported to have tasked the Interior, National Security and Defence Ministers to deal with the group by using the law, to serve as a deterrent.

Excitement greeted the coming into office of the Akufo-Addo-led administration but events in recent time appear to have cut short that fantasy.

Issues ranging from alleged acts of plagiarism, the size of the president’s government – a record 110, political party vigilantism and galamsey have dominated the news since President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo became president on January 7.
