Limited registration: NDC observer slashed with cutlass

A member of the New Patriotic Party has been arrested at Kwahu Nkwatia in the Eastern region for allegedly inflicting machete wounds on an NDC registration observer.

John Teye was allegedly accosted by some suspected NPP party members while moving from one center to another to monitor the exercise.

The victim who sustained cutlass wounds subsequently reported the incident to the police where he was issued with a medical form to seek treatment at the Atibie government hospital.

Teye told Starr News the attack on him was unprovoked.

However, the NPP has denied the attack. A constituency executive of the party Owiredu Boateng told Kwaku Obeng Adjei on Starr Today the NDC is concocting the story to taint the image of the NPP.

“Nobody attacked him. In fact the names he is mentioning were nowhere near the premises of the registration. I can say on authority that the NDC is just cooking up the story to create tension in the area,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Police in the area have confirmed the incident.
