Light Crop cocoa season opens on Friday

Accra, July 7, GNA – Purchasing of cocoa for the 2004 Light Crop Cocoa Season would commence on Friday, July 16, the Ghana Cocoa Board announced on Wednesday.

Mr S. K. Appiah, Ag. Chief Executive, in a statement issued in Accra said the producer price to be paid at all buying centres would be 270,000 cedis per 30 kilograms for Grade I and Grade II cocoa naked ex-scale or 562,500 cedis per bag of 64 kilograms gross. One tonne of 16 bags is nine million cedis.
