Libya deports 80 illegal Ghanaian migrants

Authorities in Libya has kicked out over 80 Ghanaians for living illegally in the country.

So far, an official report from the Libyan authority concerning to the deportation is yet to be released but victims of the deportation claim they were all maltreated through harsh imprisonment in the span of 8 months.

Reports do indicate that the deportees arrived at the Kotoka International Airport very tired and traumatised. So far, government has warned Ghanaians against the decision to travel illegally abroad especially to the North African country by taking the risk of travelling through the heat of the dessert.

Migrant numbers from Libya to Italy have soared dramatically in 2017 with more than 550 deaths recorded in the Mediterranean this year.
