Liberia to deport 20,000 Ghanaians?

AS THOUSANDS ARRIVE FROM LIBYA, LIBERIA TO DEPORT MORE!

Just days after Libya started an enmasse deportation of illegal Ghanaian immigrants from their soil; Liberia has also announced their intentions of ridding their country of the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants.

The Liberia Bureau of Immigrations has already informed the Ghana Government of their intentions and it estimated that there are some 20,000 Ghanaians currently living in Liberia.

Though several hundreds of Liberian nationals are refugees in several countries in the sub-region including some 40,000 in Ghana, as a result of the civil wars in that country, they claim that their country has been inundated by illegal immigrants from the sub-region who have flocked there to seek fortunes in the reconstruction era.

The Liberia government claimed that many of these immigrants were engaged in smuggling activities and other illegal ventures and this was running the nation.

No date has been set for the exercise but indications are that, it will be before the close of the year.
