Let’s make civil and reconciliatory pronouncements-MCE

Tema, March 13, GNA – The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) Mr Robert Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuware, has stressed the need for Christians to lead the crusade in ensuring that Ghanaians make civil, guided and reconciliatory statements and pronouncements.

He said the peace and stability enjoyed over the years in the country could only be maintained if Ghanaians saw themselves as one people with a common destiny.

Mr Ofosuware made the call at a special service held at the Tema Joint Church on Sunday in connection with the National Week of Prayer and Fasting declared by the President as part of activities marking this year’s Independence Day celebration on the theme: 93Ghana, Aside, Act And Shine.= ” The MCE pointed out that the President’s call to worship was a step in the right direction because the Lord had been gracious to us as a nation, and for that we owed Him gratitude.

He urged the Church to go on its knees and pray for those in authority, pointing out that 93as politicians, we can only deal with the physical projects, programmes and policies, but it takes a praying Christia= n front, to seek the Lord’s blessings to achieve our set goals and objectives.” Earlier in a Sermon, Reverend Dr Setorwu Ofori, former Synod Clerk of the Global Evangelical Church, stressed the need for Christians to be humbl= e in their dealings with their neighbours at all times. Dr Setorwu further urged them to pursue togetherness, because in his view, with a united front, Christians could impact positively on society. Prayers were said for the leadership of the country, and for peace, love and unity amongst Ghanaians.
