Let’s draw useful lessons from the Ivorian crisis

Medoma (Ash), Jan. 5, GNA – Ghanaian politicians have been advised t= o draw useful lessons from the Ivorian political crisis to avoid similar mistakes in the 2012 polls. It is important for all the key actors to accept to play by the rules and resist any temptation to cheat.

The Reverend Stephen A. Afari, a senior pastor of the Christian-way Charismatic Centre, Ghana, said this in his New Year message to the nation. He said with barely 23 months to the polls, the people needed to remin= d themselves of their responsibility to uphold the peace and the country’s democracy.

He noted that year 2011 held a lot of promise for Ghanaians and said i= t was important the people worked hard and with clean and pure hearts to move the nation forward.

He said, 93In our homes, schools and workplaces, let us be true to ourselves and our Creator, humbly accept our mistakes and live in total peace and harmony with one another.”
