Let’s be just towards one another – Palmer-Buckle

Prampram (GAR), July 20, GNA – The Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Reverend Charles Palmer-Buckle on Saturday called on Ghanaians to be fair and honest in all their endeavours to the benefit of the nation.

Most Rev Palmer-Buckle said many Ghanaians were corrupt in their activities with people cheating one another in diverse ways as they concentrated solely on maximizing their profits to the detriment of others.

He was delivering the sermon at Prampram to bless the St John the Baptist Catholic Church House which is under construction at Prampram. The building is being constructed by members of the St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church of Tema Community eight, as a present to the Prampram Catholic community in commemoration of its 40th anniversary. Most Rev Palmer-Buckle noted that the courts should not be the only place where justice could be obtained, adding that individual’s honest talents should also benefit those in need.

He said the notion that only politicians, the police, accountants and others in high positions were corrupt was wrong. Most Rev Palmer-Buckle commended the St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church for sharing its resources with the Prampram community and called on others to emulate them.

Prior to the mass, the Metropolitan Archbishop inspected a mission house under construction at the St Dominic Catholic Church at Dawhenya. He said the Arch Dioceses of Accra would provide all the churches in the region with priests as part of the preparation towards the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Catholic Church. This, he believes, would help the Catholic Church to grow “geographically, physically, qualitatively and numerically”.
