Let’s ask God to heal Kintampo disaster victims – Mahama urges

Former President Mahama has asked Ghanaians to pray for the speedy recovery scores of people who were injured in Sunday’s disaster at the Kintampo Waterfalls in the Brong Ahafo Region caused 18 lives.

In a Facebook message Monday to commiserate with the families who lost relatives in the tragic accident, the President Mahama said “Let’s also ask the almighty God to heal the injured and receive the souls of the departed into his kingdom.

“I am keeping the families of the Kintampo falls victims in mind and praying for them.

Please comfort their families and pray for them,” President Mahama added.

A rainstorm late Sunday afternoon caused trees atop the waterfalls to fall to the ground of the fall where scores of revelers including students from the Wenchi Methodist Secondary School were swimming.

Meanwhile the Tourism, Arts and Culture minister, Chatherine Afeku is currently in Kintampo where she commiserating with the families of the deceased, visit the injured and assess the situation.
