Let’s all fight against ‘politicization of everything’ in Ghana – Sophia Akuffo

Newly nominated Chief Justice of Ghana, Justice Sophia Akufo is appealing to the public to join her in the fight against politicization of “everything” in the country.

She believes that if such an attitude is not nib in the bud, it would have dire consequences on the country.

Her comment was in response to a question posed by the honourable Member of Parliament for Effia and a deputy Minister for Energy, Joseph Cudjo, as to whether her nomination to the position of Chief Justice was politicized.

Justice Sophia Akuffo commenting further on the issue when she appeared before the Appointments Committee for vetting on Friday, said as someone who was appointed to the the Supreme Court by the Jerry John Rawlings during his days as the Head of State of Ghana and now being nominated to the number four position of the country by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, she can confidently state that her nomination was not politicized.

However, she was quick to invite all Ghanaians to join her fight against politicization of “everything in Ghana” since the issue does not augur well for the development of the country.
