Sekondi, April 16, GNA- Right Reverend John Harvey-Ewusi, Methodist Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese, has advised Church workers and Christians to let their lifestyle prove who they are.

He said this at the inauguration of Sekondi Diocese Methodist Church Lay Workers Association at Sekondi on Sunday, under the theme “Called to Serve’.

Bishop Harvey-Ewusi said Jesus Christ set an example by washing the feet of his disciples, and advised church workers and Christians to follow and exhibit such examples.

“Christians who serve, as messengers must humble themselves before all, do their work effectively so that God can reward them” he added. Rev. Harvey-Ewusi urged all Christians to work hard in all sectors of their life.

He charged Christians not to use their time “in working lotto, engaging in excessive sleeping, and expect a pay or salary at the end of the month, adding that, people who are called by God become witnesses of him whenever they find themselves.

He advised Christians to forgive one another unconditionally, in order to restore bring peace to the society and the world at large. Miss Christiana Adjapong, Secretary to the Association said it was formed to bring all Lay Workers in the Diocese together to foster unity and promote good work ethics in their respective churches. She said the association would also seek and promote the welfare of its members and to protect their interests. The association is the first to be formed in the country and urged other Methodist Lay Workers to unite and organize themselves into groups for effective work.

It has Mr. Abraham K. Playman as its Chairman with John Asmah Gyenfie as the vice.

Other executive members are Christina A. Adjapong, Secretary, Mercy S. Boateng, assistant secretary, and Thomas Nketsiah, Financial secretary. The rest are Sophia Bentsil, Treasurer, Mercy B. Amoako, Chaplain and timothy Kesson as organizer.
