Let Your Fasting Not Be In Vain – Atta Mills

NDC Presidential Candidate, John Evans Atta Mills, has asked Muslims to make sure that in this period of fasting, their prayer would constantly be that Allah’s blessings would abound and that his banner over the nation would be love.

The NDC Presidential Candidate said the fasting and prayers would be of no use if the main purpose is not for Ghana to continue to be a peaceful nation and for Ghanaians to stay united with a common agenda of making sure that we give our “motherland what she deserves”.

John Evans Atta Mills, said this when he worshipped with Muslims at the Agbogbloshie Mosque, yesterday, Friday, October 05, 2007.

“I know you don’t want your fasting to be in vain so please continue to pray for peace and unity for Ghana especially as next year’s elections draws closer” John Evans Atta Mills said.

“And when you pray, pray for those of us who are in leadership positions so that we would make sure that we use our positions to do what is right and proper in the sight of Allah and not use our positions for personal gain and to amass wealth for ourselves and families whilst the larger population languishes in abject poverty” Atta Mills added.

Muslim prayers (Ardua) were said for John Evans Atta Mills for Allah to continue to guide, protect him, and make his path righteous so that when he is given the mandate to lead the country, he would not forget his “I Care For You” message, and make sure that he makes it his agenda to care for the people who would have given him the mandate to manage the affairs of the State.

The NDC Presidential Candidate was accompanied by Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni, NDC Running Mate in the last elections, Hon Nii Tackie Commey, NDC MP, Odododiodoo, Hon Nii Amasa Namoale, NDC MP, La Dadekotopon, and Baba Lamin Abu Sadat one-time NDC MP for Kasoa.
