Lesotho’s parliament speaker dies in Ghana

ACCRA, Aug 17

The speaker of Lesotho’s parliament was found dead in his hotel room in Ghana’s capital Accra, the Ghanaian parliament announced on Tuesday.

An official statement said John Teboho Kolane, who was in his 70s, was found dead on Sunday. The cause of death had not been established.

Kolane had attended a meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association which ended in Accra on Friday.

“The authorities and parliament in Lesotho have been informed and arrangements are being made to convey the body of the late speaker home,” the statement added.
