Ledzokuku pupils get support from MP

The Member of Parliament for the Ledzokuku constituency in Accra, Mrs. Benita Sena Okity-Duah has donated 10,000 exercise books worth GHC 32,000 to be distributed to 24 public Junior High Schools.

The donation, according to Mrs. Okity-Duah, was procured with assistance from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), with the aim of reducing the burden on parents and guardians in provision of books for pupils.

That, she said, formed part of her plan to assist in improving the state of education in the constituency, adding that the future of children in the area was a priority for her.

Among other initiatives, she mentioned the holding of free vacation classes for pupils, donation of computers to schools, refurbishment of the Teshie community library, the facilitation of infrastructure development, as some of her interventions to support education in the area.

Receiving the items, Yaw Fosu-Danquah, Ledzokoko-Krowor Municipal Education Director, thanked the MP for the gesture, and gave assurance of an equitable distribution of the books.
