Leading PNC member calls for Unity in the party

Wa, July 11, GNA – Dr Gilbert Dabori Baigne, a leading member of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has called on all progressive forces within the Party to unite against those who are destabilizing it. “The NDC failed Ghana and the NPP has also failed and Ghanaians are now looking up to the PNC to rescue the nation from several years of mess, but this we cannot do without unity in our front,” he said. Dr Baigne, a medical doctor, made the call on Tuesday when he came to the offices of the Ghana News Agency at Wa to express his concern about current developments in the PNC.

“At a time when all serious political parties are organizing primaries or preparing to do so for next year’s elections, we are wasting our time and resources to fight court cases”, he bemoaned. He appealed to all those who had taken legal action against Dr Edward Mahama to withdraw the case for settlement in order to allow the Party to move forward in unity.

“We cannot win elections with such distractions by people who claim to have the Party at heart”, Dr Baigne, a former Upper West Regional Chairman of the PNC stated.

“We need unity to build a strong political force with the capability to mobilize resources to win the next elections”, he said. He described Dr Edward Mahama as one of the nation’s current political giants who could not be toyed with and all those who intended to draw him to all manner of disputes should stop their actions.
