Leaders urged to be selfless and delegate powers

Tema, Dec. 14, GNA – The Right Reverend Samuel Achamfuo Yeboah, Bishop of the Tema Diocese of the Methodist Church on Sunday called on leaders to do away with selfishness and involve their subordinates in their administration to enable them to be familiar with the job they do.

It is frustrating for leaders to manipulate and suppress subordinates to their advantage he said and called for a stop to such practice in order to ensure fairness in the running of the Church. The Bishop was preaching the sermon to mark the induction into office of the Very Reverend Henry Kofi Ampaw-Asiedu, 47, as Synod Secretary of the Tema Diocese and Superintendent Minister of the Tema Circuit at the Saint Paul Methodist Cathedral at Tema.

In order to chalk successes, the Rt. Rev. Achamfour-Yeboah entreated leaders to be selfless and tackle their work with humility, honesty and commitment by running open administration in order to face the challenges ahead.

“Today we need people who have the spirit of God in them and can work diligently to the benefit of all because God greatly uses people who work fearlessly in His name”.

He, however, asked people not be disillusioned when they do not get immediate answers to their request in prayers, because “God does things in His own way and at the right time.”

Rev. Ampaw-Asiedu thanked the Church for their prayers and support and promised to work diligently to promote its activities. Married with four children, Rev. Ampaw-Asiedu started his career as a teacher and branched into priesthood through the Trinity College.
