Accra, 21 July, GNA – Apostle Ebenezer Nsesa Abebrese, President of the Apostolic Church of Ghana, on Thursday expressed indignation about the spate of deviant behaviour on the part of some ministers of God and said the Church would not endorse immorality.
He said while they continued praying to God to reverse the trend, they were also taking steps among themselves to put a stop to it.
Apostle Abebrese made these comments when a delegation from the Apostolic Church of Ghana paid an official visit to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra.
He said the visit was to formally introduce the newly elected leaders of the Church and to have a formal interaction with the leadership of the forward.
Apostle Abebrese said the Church had for a very long time held GNA in very high esteem and it was important for them to maintain the already existing relationship.
Apostle Abraham Ofori-Kuragu, General Secretary of the Church, said the Church would also continue to network with the Agency which he referred to as a key stakeholder in their missionary work.
He noted that the country had now got to a stage where immorality, especially homosexuality and lesbianism, was gradually gaining hold in the society, and that it was important to adopt measures that would help to reverse the trend.
Mr Boakye-Dankwa Boadi, Acting General Manager of the GNA, said the Agency’s objectives included ensuring national cohesion and championing the cause of national development.
Mr Boadi indicated that the Agency was able to reach billions of people worldwide through the bilateral partnership it had developed with other news agencies across the world.
He assured the visiting delegation that the Agency would lend its support in the fight against homosexuality and lesbianism as those practices ran contrary to true African values.
