Lawyers debunk fraudulent case against Bastiat boss

Lawyers of Dr Tweneboah Senzu, Manager of Bastiat Society Ghana, have refuted a media report that their client was arrested in the Western Region for engaging in a fraudulent deal.

The story which was a Ghana News Agency (GNA) interview narrative in Takoradi said Dr Senzu allegedly defrauded Seth Ohene, Manager of Janeseth Agro- chemicals of GH? 22,516.00 in a cocoa fertilizer deal in 2012.

It said the case was taken to court in July 2013, but the suspect failed to appear before it and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

The five-member team of lawyers including Mr Raymond Akapastis and Mr Baffour Dwuma, Legal Consultant said in a statement copied to GNA in Accra on Thursday that the publication was done deliberately to dent the credibility of the leader of Bastiat Ghana.

It said a competent court of law has no link with the publication and dared those behind the story to identify themselves and should be ready to face the full rigours of the law.

The statement said on September 9, 2014, Takoradi Circuit Court A, indicated that there is no such charge sheet of a fraudulent case against Dr Senzu before it.
