Lawyer saves thief from mob attack

The timely intervention of a legal practitioner saved the life of an alleged thief who purportedly stole a car battery at a garage at Tanokrom and was set upon by a mob.

The alleged thief was almost beaten dead but the lawyer intervened and took him to the Kwesiminstin Police Station where he was referred to the hospital for treatment.

The nurse on duty who confirmed the story to the GNA said though first aid had been given to the thief, he needed a folder at a cost of almost 70 cedis for further treatment.

The alleged thief after gaining consciousness told the hospital officials that he came from Mankessim in the Central Region and that he had no relations in town to help pay the bills.
