Lawra SHS to represent Upper West Region in debate

The Lawra Senior High School will represent Upper West Region in the national debate in July as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the African Union(AU).

Lawra Senior High School beat the Queen of Peace Senior High School in Nadowli in the debate organised by Ghana Education Service (GES). The national debate would be on the theme: “Has Pan- Africanism and the African Renaissance a future?”

It is aimed at inculcating the spirit of Pan -Africanism and African renaissance into students.

The GES organised the debate in collaboration with Think Africa Forum, with the AU as the sponsors. The motion for the debate was: “Is Pan- Africanism relevant in the 21st century and beyond?”

Jamaldeen Dimbie, the Principal speaker for the Lawra Senior High School spoke on the motion, while Dery Ernest, the Principal Speaker for Queen of Peace Senior High School spoke against the motion.
