Latter Day Saints to adopt Dzowulu Special Home

Accra, March 22, GNA – The Accra New Town branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is considering adopting the Dzowulu Special Home for the Mentally Challenged in the near future.

Bishop Francis Kornu of the Branch announced this when the Church made a donation of food items, used clothing and hygiene kits worth eight million cedis to the school at the weekend.

It formed part of the Church’s effort to support the poor and the needy in society.

Bishop Kornu said the plight of the children of the Home had touched their hearts hence their intention to extend continual and periodic support to the Home.

He said the exercise would be an annual one for the Branch, which was also in line with its objective of offering support, comfort and friendship to those in need.

Madam Veronica Bassaw, Director of the Home, received the items and said there was the need for individuals and organizations to come to their aid to equip the children to face the challenges of life.
