Late Chief Inspector Nyame’s Assailants remanded

Kumasi, May 8, GNA – A Kumasi Circuit Court has remanded three members of a robbery gang who attacked and murdered Chief Inspector Jacob Kofi Nyame of the Central CID in Kumasi on Easter Monday. In their robbery expedition, the gang also shot another victim, a pastor and neighbour of the deceased, but he survived and is on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). The pleas of the three were not taken and they would appear on May 25. Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police Albert Odei Quansah told the court presided over by Mr. Adjei Frimpong that the accused persons, Yaw Afrifa, 28, Stanley Kofi Akuffo, 25 and Kwabena Anokye, 23 are second hand car dealer, trader and labourer respectively in Kumasi. He said on April 14, the three armed with pump action guns attacked late Chief Inspector at his residence at Medoma New Site, a suburb of Kumasi.

They took from him a double barrel gun, two mobile phones and shot him. They also robbed one Pastor James Nsiah Adomako and shot him in the left arm and right leg. 08 May 09
