Late Captain Mahama promoted to rank of ‘Major’

Government has promoted the late Maxwell Mahama to the rank of a Major despite his untimely demise on May, 29, 2017.

A memorial fund with seed money of 500,000 has also been set up for the Captain who was lynched by the people of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region.while on official duties.

These were announced by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the one week observation of Captain Mahama’s death.

The president committed to paying a personal amount of ?50,000.00 in addition to the fund set up by government to be managed by past and present government officials, including former Deputy Interior Minister James Agalga and former government statistician Grace Bediako as managers.

With a promise of providing a full state burial for the fallen hero on Friday, the president said a monument will also be mounted at a yet to be decided venue to remind Ghanaians of the event of May 29, 2017.
