Lansing Sister City Commission to provide clinics in Akuapem North

Aburi (E/R), Oct. 25, GNA- Akuapem South District is to be provided with two new clinics by the end of next year under the Akuapem North -Lansing Sister City Commission Cooperation.

The projects estimated at 12,000 US dollars are to be sited in Nsakyi, near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

This was disclosed by Ms Babara Mason, Chairperson of the Commission on Friday at Aburi after inspecting HIV/AIDS Clubs being established in schools by Christian Friends of Democracy (CFD), a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

Ms Mason said the site for the second clinic is yet decided. She said the Commission was worried about an increase of HIV/AIDS cases in the Akuapem South District.

She said the Commission would provide some material support to the activities of the CFD.

Mr. Emmanuel Ashley of Berea Christian Fellowship in Accra, advised CFD members to show moral standards for children to emulate. Rev. Samuel Adjei, National President of CFD said the organisation has been relying on its own resources without funding from anywhere.
