LaNMMA observes ninth sanitation day

The La-Nkwantanang=Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA) on Saturday undertook its ninth clean-up, with the staff, members of the Concerned Citizen Association, Market Women, and road side traders, taking part in the exercise.

They desilted choked gutters and removed filth.

The day took them to a heap of refuse dumped at the Zurak Park at the Libya Quarters and the VRA Lorry Station Park, where a. hired pay-loader was used to remove the refuse and dumped at the Pantang dumping site,

Mr Franklin Anku, the Municipal Chief Executive, and the Co-ordinating Director, Alhaji Dramani Saaka, went round to inspect the work done in the areas.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the Head of Environmental Health and Sanitation Department, Mr. Joseph Quacoe, expressed concern about the apathetic attitude towards the National Sanitation Day, and therefore stressed the need to enforce the Assembly’s bye-laws to compel people to take active part in the exercise.
