Landslide victory for Akufo-Addo

Two-time leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo secured an emphatic victory in the first step to lead the biggest opposition party for the third time.

Results from all polling stations gave Nana Addo a landslide over the rest.

By the results, two candidates – Stephen Asamoah-Boateng and Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku – will not be part of the main primary scheduled to come off October 18 to elect the presidential candidate of the party for the 2016 General Elections.

Below are the votes from the various regions:

Greater Accra: Nana Addo – 73, Alan Kyerematen – 3, Joe Ghartey – 3

Brong Ahafo: Nana Addo – 42, Alan Kyerematen – 11, Kofi Apraku – 2, Joe Ghartey – 5, Addai Nimoh – 5, Kofi Osei Ameyaw – 5, Asamoah Boateng – 2

Ashanti: Nana Addo – 86, Alan Kyerematen – 17, Joe Ghartey – 2, Asamoah Boateng – 2, Kofi Apraku – 2, Addai Nimoh – 10, Kofi Osei Ameyaw – 4

Western: Nana Addo – 45, Asamoah Boateng – 7, Kofi Osei Ameyaw – 2, Joe Ghartey – 7

Eastern: Nana Addo – 77, Alan Kyerematen – 2, Kofi Apraku – 1, Kofi Osei Ameyaw – 1, Addai Nimoh – 3

Volta: Nana Addo – 28, Alan Kyerematen – 14, Kofi Apraku – 2, Addai-Nimoh – 1, Joe Ghartey – 1, Kofi Osei Ameyaw – 4, Asamoah Boateng – 1

Upper West: Nana Addo – 32

Upper East: Nana Addo – 37, Addai-Nimoh – 1
