Landlord allegedly killed in brawl with tenant

Godwin Kofi Nuku, a 45-year-old landlord, was allegedly stabbed to death on Thursday night by his tenant during a quarrel, at Beat Nine Junction at Aflao.

The suspect named only as Kwame, 38, was also alleged to have also bitten off the nose of the late Nuku, sources in the neighbourhood told the Ghana News Agency.

The Police have confirmed the incident but said investigations continued.

The sources said the late Nuku and Kwame engaged in a quarrel at about 2100 hours on that night for reasons they could not tell.

The sources said the late Nuku, armed with a machete, allegedly confronted Kwame at his apartment about 100 metres away from his (Nuku’s) apartment.

The sources said in an ensuing scuffle Kwame allegedly bit Nuku’s nose and stabbed him with a knife.

Nuku was pronounced dead at the Ketu South Municipal Hospital at Aflao where he was rushed to, while Kwame was receiving treatment at same hospital.

The incident, the sources said, drew scores of people, including relatives of Nuku, to the bloody scene with many having wailed.
