Land-guards cannot deter us – Dealers

Iron City (C/R), Aug. 12, GNA – Members of the Central Mechanics and Spare Parts Dealers Association (CMSPDA) at Iron City, near Kasoa in the Central Region, have stated their determination not to allow the activities of land-guards to disrupt their operations. They stated at meeting of the executive of the Association on Thursday that they would exploit all means to expose their activities to the Police to prosecute them.

Mr Isaiah K. Arkoh, Administrative Manager of the Association, who gave the warning at Iron City, said the group had a bright future and said its target was to create an opportunity for both local and foreign investors to establish their ventures in the area without hindrance. He pointed out that it was the intention of the Association also to ensure that the area had a positive impact on national development and created jobs for the youth.

It is also their intention to use the area as a major technical and vocational training point for the youth, he said.

Mr Arkoh urged all the residents in the area to go about their activities in peace and to provide reliable information that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of the land guards.

Mr Alex Acquah, Vice Chairman of the Association appealed to the Chiefs and people of Tuba, near Iron City, to live up to their pledge to expose the land-guards operating in the area.

Mr Alex Yankey, Risk Manager said the move would earn them a good name and compliment the efforts of the Government to make the nation peaceful and prosperous. 12 Aug 05
