Lady, 22, hospitalised after gang rape

A 22-year-old hairdresser has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition after being gang-raped by unidentified men at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region on Thursday February 12.

Reports reaching Class News indicate that the victim is currently on admission at the Ata Cade District Hospital in Obuasi. The mother of the victim, Margaret Danso, narrated that they nearly killed her daughter.

“What has happened to my daughter is heart-breaking. When I was called to see my daughter, I wept. I can never forget the fellow who did that. I will pursue him; he wanted to kill her but God saved her for me,” she told reporters.

A Good Samaritan, Kwaku Ampofo, who lives in Kwabenakwa in Obuasi where the incident occurred, sent the lady to the hospital for treatment when she was discovered.

According to him, the victim “went to work, closed from work and just at the entrance of her gate, this man pounced on her and strangled her till she became weak and raped her. She is in a critical condition now and from all indications, the man didn’t rape her alone. She has been bleeding and been sent to two different hospitals until finally she was admitted to the Ata Cade Hospital in Obuasi”.
