Lack of accommodation affects staff of Ho regional Hospital

Ho, Sept. 30, GNA- Nurses and other health professionals at the 240-bed Volta Regional Hospital are drifting to other parts of the country due to lack of accommodation.

Mr Godwin Pongo, Administrator of the hospital in an interview with the GNA on Monday, appealed to government and Estate developers to assist in helping to curb the drift by putting up more residential blocks.

He noted that the hospital, which was built in 1999 as a tertiary and referral health institution has no accommodation for its staff and it continues to lose its attraction to health professionals.

Mr Pongo said currently, one nurse is performing the work of five to six persons due to shortage of staff.
