Labourer remanded for smoking Indian hemp

Tema, Sept. 2, GNA- The Tema Circuit Court ‘B’, has remanded a labourer into custody for allegedly smoking Indian hemp. Felix Akpanyo, whose plea was not taken, will re-appear on September 8.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Ben Agbedanu, told the court, presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on August 14, 2004, members of a Neighbourhood Watchdog Committee on patrol arrested the accused smoking the hemp with his accomplices who are at large.

The prosecution said 32 wrappers of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were found on him.
