Labourer remanded for defilement

Tema, Oct. 14,GNA- The Tema Circuit ‘B’, has remanded Papa Avor, a 21-year old labourer into prison custody for defiling a 12-year old pupil.

Papa pleaded not guilty to defilement, and would re-appear on Tuesday, October 26.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Teye Martey, told the Court presided over by Mr Stephen K. Teye, that on October 9 this year, the accused gave the victim 1,000 cedis to buy soap for him.

He said when the girl returned, Papa ordered her to bring the soap into his room, where he covered his mouth and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

Chief Inspector Martey said the accused warned the victim that if she informs anybody about the act she will die. The victim rushed home and reported her ordeal to her mother, who then reported the matter to the Police leading to the arrest of Papa.
