Juaso (Ash), Feb. 18, GNA – A 25-year-old labourer has been jailed for seven years in hard labour for having sex with a mentally retarded person receiving treatment in a church at Agogo. Iddrisu Dumba had sex with the victim who was chained to a tree but was caught by someone who was sleeping nearby. The accused, who pleaded guilty to the charge, threw the Juaso Circuit Court into laughter when he told the court that he had sex with the victim because he could not control his libido since he had no wife or girlfriend.
Police Detective Inspector Mike Fritz Bekoe told the court that in the night of January 27 someone who was sleeping in a structure near the victim heard her screaming and rushed to the scene to find the accused having sex with her. Dumba was arrested and handed over to the police.
