Labourer jailed 20 years for defilement.

Tarkwa(W/R), April 16, GNA – Kwabena Amoasi, a labourer have been jailed 20 years by a Tarkwa Circuit Court presided over by Mr John Ajet Nasam, for defiling a 14 years old girl at Sewhi Yawmatwa in the Bia district. He was sentenced on his own plea. Prosecuting, Inspector Tawiah of the Tarkwa Police said the complainant, Joyce Armah Debrah is the mother of the victim who is a pupil of D/C Primary School at Sefwi Yawmatwa whilst the accused is a Forestry Plantation labourer resident at Sefwi Yawmatwa. She said in November 11 2007, at about 2.00pm the victim went to her father’s well with her friend to fetch water, when the accused,

Amoasi lured her into his room and forcibly had sex with her. Inspector Tawiah said the victim realized that blood was oozing from her vagina after the act and reported the incident to her mother who accompanied her to the Kaase Police Station to lodge a complaint. When the accused was arrested, he admitted the offence in his caution statement, Inspector Tawiah added.
