Labourer In Court For Threatening To Kill A Student

An Ejisu-Juaben magistrate court has remanded Eric Yeboah, a 26-year-old labourer, for threatening to kill a student.

He is also facing charges of unlawful possession of a pistol and some dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. Yeboah’s plea was not taken and would re-appear on June 18. Police Inspector Nkansa Twumasi told the court that the accused threatened to shoot Yaw Boakye, a student of the Ejisuman Secondary School to death.

He said on June 1 Yeboah pulled a pistol at Boakye but he fled. The student reported the incident to his senior brother who went to the house of the accused and demanded an explanation for his action. Inspector Twumasi said this infuriated Yeboah who assaulted him. He said a report was made to the police who arrested Yeboah and when his room was searched a pistol and marijuana were found.
