Labourer charged with possessing Indian hemp

Asamankese, April 28, GNA – Kofi Agyapong, a 35-year-old labourer, was arrested while attending nature’s call in the bush smoking Indian hemp.

Appearing before the Asamankese Circuit Court, Agyapong pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison custody until May 28.

Police Inspector D.T. Nartey told the court presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah that members of the Akwatia Neighborhood Committee spotted Agyapong defecating in a nearby bush smoking wee.

Agyapong, on seeing the group, threw the wee away and took to his heels but was and arrested and w.

A quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was found in his pocket.
