Labourer charge with theft of driving Mirror

Asamankese, Dec 12, GNA – A Tema New Town-based labourer who allegedly stole four side driving mirrors from two vehicles at Kade valued at a total of 700,000 cedis has been remanded by the Asamankese Circuit Court till December 15.

Police Chief Inspector G. D. Bruce, prosecuting, said policemen on petrol duties on November 15 had information that Yaw Acheampong had in his possession items suspected to have been stolen and had boarded an Accra-bound vehicle. He said the policemen chased the vehicle to Adankrono where they stopped it and ordered all the passengers to get down with their bags. Acheampong, who had his bag beside him, took to his heels but was chased and arrested.

When his bag was searched it contained the items and later Mr Samuel Owusu Dompreh and Mr George Frimpong called at the police station and identified the side mirrors as those removed from their vehicles.
