The judge sitting on the case between the 12 labour unions and government has been accused of bias.
Justice Kweku Saeed Gyan has, therefore, officially written to the Chief Justice for determination of the matter.
The accusation comes in the wake of the Accra Industrial Court throwing out two reliefs that were being sought by the 12 labour unions – which have formed the Forum for Public Sector Registered Pension Schemes.
The latest dismissal concerned an application to have the Bank of Ghana join the case and declare the amount so far accrued under the second-tier pension scheme of the National Pensions Act of 2008.
Counsel for the labour unions has petitioned Justice Georgina Theodora Woode over their concerns, our reporter has said.
The unions also want a change of court for the case, TV3’s Daniel Opoku added.
The Forum is battling government over who is right-placed to manage second-tier pensions of public sector workers under Act 766.
While the Forum claims an independent trustee should manage the funds, government insists it is best-placed to do so.
